Clear the runway for Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), VH1's three-time male model of the year. His face falls when hippie-chic Hansel (Owen Wilson) scooters in to steal this year's award.
The evil fashion guru Mugatu (Will Ferrell) seizes the opportunity to turn Derek into a killing machine. It's a well-designed conspiracy and only with the help of Hansel and a few well-chosen accessories like Matilda (Christine Taylor) can Derek make the world safe for male models everywhere.

Better than a one joke film - 5 out of 5 (2/25/2002)
I had avoided seeing ZOOLANDER in the theaters because I didn't want to see
what I figured was a one-joke movie stretched out to an hour and a half.
As it turns out, I was only half right. You see, the movie is a one-joke
movie, but it's a very funny one-joke movie and I should have given Ben
Stiller more credit because he manages to make this whole package work.

Good features---needs a little more film to go with the features - 4.5 out of 5 (4/1/2002)
I think that if you are a huge Ben Stiller fan this is a must-have for your DVD collection. If you like him just a little then you won't enjoy the film nearly as much. This movie is solely about Stiller and there isn't much other content in the movie. I thought that the special features were great but at the begginning of the movie the video seemed a little schetchy and hard to follow but maybe it was just me. Overall I think that I expected more after renting it on VHS.

A Stypefyingly Funny Movie, and one really really really ridiculously good-looking DVD - 4.75 out of 5 (3/21/2002)
The big story surrounding the theatrical release of Zoolander was the fact that it was the only comedy to be released since the tragic events of 9/11, and its simple-minded humor was just what the country needed in terms of escapist fare. This notion may have been questioned by some, but what I saw was exactly what trailers had promised me, which was a gloriously stupid movie about a gloriously stupid individual, who just happens to be really, really, really, really good looking.
